I'm a reporter for Mother Jones magazine writing about politics, immigration, and culture.
My work has appeared in Slate, The Washington Post, The Nation, The Marshall Project, Columbia Journalism Review, Texas Monthly, GEN Magazine, The New Humanitarian, and elsewhere. I also contributed fact-checking to The Texas Observer magazine and The Fuller Project, an award-winning global nonprofit newsroom reporting on women. My work has been supported by the Economic Hardship Reporting Project.
Previously, I was an editorial fellow at Pacific Standard magazine. In 2018, I was selected as a Global Migration Project fellow at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, where I was a recipient of the John Chancellor scholarship and graduated with honors.
I'm originally from Rio de Janeiro, where I worked as a digital content producer and editor for Globo, the largest media company in Latin America, and as a reporter for the online and print editions of the national newspaper Folha de S. Paulo. I have also lived in Paris, New York City, and Austin. I'm currently based in Washington, DC.
